shades cafe.

{mercado global bag: c/o RedEnvelope // top and scarf: zara  // earrings: c/o padgett hoke // bean boots}

it breaks my heart to hear that amazing local businesses are shutting their doors.
small towns can be tough!
one of my favorite places, Shades Cafe, is closing it's little log cabin this month.
when i stopped in the other day, i soaked in the sun from my favorite sunny seat in all of town.
the cabin may be tiny, but Shades adds so much character to jackson.
i urge all of you locals to stop by for one last eggs benedict or mocha latte.
i'll sure miss stopping there for a bite to eat before hitting the river in the summers.
you can read more about it here.

Stio Giveaway!

{stio woolsey jacket}

{stio flannel // stio blazer // stio beanie // paige jeans // frye boots}

i've teamed up with Stio, a local Jackson Hole outdoor company
to bring you a little look at some of my favorites from their new line.
they are known for their ski apparel but i'm in love with all of their lifestyle pieces.
the styles are fun yet functional  - for both men and women - on and off the slopes.
i tell ya, i may be wearing that flannel every day this winter.  oh, so cozy!
and don't get me started on the woolsey coat.
light-weight, stylish, AND warm....it was love at first mountainista sight.

the gang at Stio is graciously offering the chance to win the shades blazer i'm wearing above!!
made from a soft shell fabric, this jacket is the ultimate for day to day mountain town wear.
anyone can enter, just follow the steps below.

dudes.

how sweet are these rough and tough guys?
i snapped these a few weeks ago on their family ranch.
though you could use a few cowboy photos to get you through this rainy thursday.
the holes in the jeans kill me.

a new way to dinner party.

a recipe for "dinner with a view":

 handful of good friends
one large vintage airstream
everyone bring an appetizer
a few bottles of wine
one pitcher of sangria (careful on the brandy)
flag down a tourist to snap a few photos
add a dash of rainbow and whole lotta love

do you ever have those moments when you realize a conversation just took a completely wrong turn?
and there is nothing you can do but to throw it in the awkward life moments box?
well i just had one of those at the post office.
living in a small town has its perks like getting to know everyone on a friendly level, even the post man.
he's a pretty funny guy, that post man, and always makes fun (judges?) of me in a friendly way.
zappos box...."how many shoes DO you own?"
j.crew box.... "geez, another one?"
it should be noted that i get extremely excited to pick up packages.
especially when i don't know what is in store.

Horny Toad sent me a mighty large package of clothing goodies and when i saw the size of the box, i couldn't help but grin ear to ear.
me: "YESSSS!  i've been waiting for this!"
post man: "horny  toad......what are you getting into this time?"
me: "it's for my blog" (proudly beaming)
post man: "what the hell is a blog?"
me: "um, you know, a personal website.  people send me stuff to wear and i take pictures in it."
post man: blank stare.
me: blank stare.  this is the moment when i realized how sketchy this all sounds.
my brain started racing on how i can fix this...
me: "if people like what they see, they can then buy it!!"
post man: "don't worry.  i won't judge."

great comeback, meagan.

total consciousness.

{just a man on some stilts.}
{neon tumblers c/o wine enthusiast}

{"danny saw me NAKED!"}

i am sick and tired of people saying summer is almost over with!
i simply won't allow it.
august and september are where it's at people!!
there are so many things to do every night this summer so i've been trying out new things
aka a bike-in movie with friends.
we grabbed scrumptious salmon cakes from pearl street meat & fish and wine from bin 22.
my favorite summer accessory are these fun non-breakable wine glasses.
they are pretty perfect for the outdoor happy hour, i say!
caddyshack was playing and i apologize to everyone who was around me.
i was that person who quoted every line right before it happened.
some things you just can't help.
enjoy your summery weekend!

coffee and cupcakes.

{whitewash + rustic woods just pull at my heart}
{ona camera bag}

there's something about a cute and cozy spot that makes you feel like taking on the world.
early summer mornings have been the norm for me lately (if you know me....that is an oxymoron)
and i've been taking full advantage of exploring town before things get too crowded.
my favorite bakery opened a new store and i finally made my way for a morning cup of joe.
a few hours with tunes, a medium roast, my laptop and i get all inspired-like.
i'm easily amused if you throw sugar in my face.
i'm gonna go ahead and say that macaroons have had the greatest comeback since the jean jacket.
and for bloggers, they spice up any post and/or instagram photo.
stop in Persephone and try their smores cookie....holy heavenly goodness!

the jumping rock.

the weather this weekend was pure perfection.
my girlfriends and i decided to chill out at phelps lake to catch some rays and get a little hike in.
we parked at death canyon trailhead and hiked up to the phelps lake lookout.
then made our way down to the jumping rock.
as my friend says, "its not summer until you jump off the rock"
some things just make you feel like a kid again.

bike to happy hour.

my girlfriends and i hit up happy hour last week.
with the long summer nights, its so much fun to meet up and bike around town.
it was a gorgeous day after work so we jumped on our cruisers.
the wine shop Bin 22 is such a fun spot to mingle with friends while enjoying scrumptious cheeses and worldly vino.
and, i mean look at that plate o' meat!
the outside atmosphere was absolutely perfect for catching up over shared tapas plates.
lately i've been feeling pretty darn lucky with the friends i've made out west.
this community is just awe. some.

locals note:
now until the end of the summer from 4 - 6 your second drink is only $2!
all of the proceeds from those 2 extra buckaroos will go into a special Bike Fund that will help support clean transportation around jackson.
pretty neat, huh?  #BikeToBin22
they are also offering weekly specials on anything from wine to roadhouse brewery growlers.
grab your friends (or a hot date!) and cruise on over for happy hour.
thanks to KNDLY and Fine Dining for this great initiative.
