the temps this last week have been brutal.

i'm talking negative digits that i sometimes find hard to fathom.

my parents live in florida where it can be a full 100 degrees warmer than their poor daughter.

seriously, how do i live here?

truth be told it isn't always this cold....just a few weeks a winter but still tough.

i know i wouldn't be able to survive (literally) without my array of beanies.

thankfully there are so many options out there and weeks like this remind me that you can never have enough.

and the bigger the pom the better in my book.

so my friends, stock up!

dust off those old leather sandals from the late 90's
because birkenstocks are back!
if you're like me, you've got a pair stashed somewhere in your closet,
slightly embarrassed yet a tad proud of the unofficial mountain sandal.
i went to school in boulder....and i live in the mountains....
aren't i supposed to have at least one pair, just because?
oh the birks....they're kind of like a right of passage for mountain folk.
a must-have if you will.  (along with the ever so functional chacos)
sometimes comfort out rules style but if you ask me, there are some cute birks out there, see below.
it's hard to beat the perfectly molded leather for your soles. pun intended.
just please, for the love of good, do not add socks.

the whole oxford trend seems to be everywhere this fall and i'm fully embracing it.

they pair perfectly with skinny jeans and my recent favorite, a pencil skirt for work.

by no means is summer over with.....i'm holding out until october.

do you ever have those moments when you realize a conversation just took a completely wrong turn?

and there is nothing you can do but to throw it in the awkward life moments box?

well i just had one of those at the post office.

living in a small town has its perks like getting to know everyone on a friendly level, even the post man.

he's a pretty funny guy, that post man, and always makes fun (judges?) of me in a friendly way.

zappos box...."how many shoes DO you own?"

j.crew box.... "geez, another one?" 

it should be noted that i get extremely excited to pick up packages.  

especially when i don't know what is in store.

Horny Toad sent me a mighty large package of clothing goodies and when i saw the size of the box, i couldn't help but grin ear to ear.

me: "YESSSS!  i've been waiting for this!"

post man: "horny  toad......what are you getting into this time?"

me: "it's for my blog" (proudly beaming)

post man: "what the hell is a blog?"

me: "um, you know, a personal website.  people send me stuff to wear and i take pictures in it."

post man: blank stare.

me: blank stare.  this is the moment when i realized how sketchy this all sounds. 

my brain started racing on how i can fix this...

me: "if people like what they see, they can then buy it!!"

post man: "don't worry.  i won't judge."

today feels like fall.  i can smell it in the air.

by no means am i okay with this but i might as well embrace it.

enter, the pleather jacket.

for the record, if i could own a closet full of real leather jackets, i most certainly would but my wallet just won't allow it and i think peta would come after me.

thankfully pleather is an awesome alternative. 

there are tons out there, but the one i'm wearing won the online shopping cart award this month.

hurray for H&M finally being online!

its another great transition piece into fall so you'll be seeing it a lot in the early mornings and evenings when the mountain air is especially crisp.

is it obvious that i'm desperately trying to hold onto summer with my pink soles?

my friend ashley and i have the best time meandering around for these little H&M shoots.

i'm reppin' Wyoming here so we try to get western-y and fun backdrops.

we stumbled upon this badass old bus with Wyoming 22 plates.

(the 22 represents teton county aka jackson hole aka coolest place in the west)

i recently stopped by the free concert on the commons at jackson hole mountain resort.
this dress was perfect for lounging on the lawn while discovering new tunes.
