Stio Giveaway!

{stio woolsey jacket}

{stio flannel // stio blazer // stio beanie // paige jeans // frye boots}

i've teamed up with Stio, a local Jackson Hole outdoor company
to bring you a little look at some of my favorites from their new line.
they are known for their ski apparel but i'm in love with all of their lifestyle pieces.
the styles are fun yet functional  - for both men and women - on and off the slopes.
i tell ya, i may be wearing that flannel every day this winter.  oh, so cozy!
and don't get me started on the woolsey coat.
light-weight, stylish, AND warm....it was love at first mountainista sight.

the gang at Stio is graciously offering the chance to win the shades blazer i'm wearing above!!
made from a soft shell fabric, this jacket is the ultimate for day to day mountain town wear.
anyone can enter, just follow the steps below.

a year in review.

this post is dedicated to all my egg peeps.
the biggest thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to stop by every day.
this little spot on the internet has grown tremendously in the last year
(15,000 avg hits per month, like whoa?!)
thank you for letting me share my beautiful little mountain town and crazy life adventures.
from comments, emails, shout outs on the ski hill, and hellos in the street
you all keep me inspired day to day.
i hope the egg brings each of you a little daily dose of happiness.
many new and exciting things to come this year!
thank you for the continued love and support.
y'all come back now, ya hear?!

dinner with a view.

{double rainbow.}

{dinner spot}

{manchego cheese + almonds + honey + cracker. heaven}

{osker takes the wheel}

{can you tell i've been training for a marathon?}
i made a new friend on sunday evening.
her name is Silver Bullet and she is a GMC Palmbeach.
a real beauty i tell ya.
we rode Silver, as i nicknamed her, to antelope flats to enjoy dinner with a view.
jeff and i got dressed up....really he just wore jeans without holes and i wore a long skirt.
but, it was our first time meeting Silver and we wanted to make a good first impression.
we are really hoping for a life long friendship with her.
i think she liked us because she didn't break down. not once!
we ate shrimp wrapped in proscuitto, machego cheese, and scrumptious burgers.
it was a great end to the weekend.
and now i have a new friend in town.

#1 and #2.

#1. the very best thing about living in this little mountain town is the community.
i've met the most friendly and inspiring people from all over the world.
who have all decided to live here for similar reasons.
i feel so lucky to be a part of such an amazing valley.

#2. the second best thing about living here are the people who stop by to say hello.
a resort town attracts all sorts of folk.
i love sharing my favorite local spots and showing off my the tetons.

the other night i was fortunate enough to meet up with scott hamilton kennedy for a drink at osteria.
i bragged about jhole and we talked about communities and inspirations.
he's here in town promoting his oscar nominated documentary, The Garden.
it's an incredible story about people coming together.
on making this film, scott said, "sometimes you just gotta dive in and hope for the best."
it was a little quote i needed to hear.

i don't want to give away any details but the movie is playing tonight at 7pm at the center for the arts.
its free for all.
get ready to be inspired.

sans fireworks.

a few photos from my camping trip this weekend on jackson lake.
we scored a camp site on little mackinaw island, where the views weren't shabby.
i think everyone should camp at least once every summer, even if its in your backyard....or living room.

what are your plans for the 4th?
due to a fire ban in jackson hole,
there will be no fireworks this year for me.
sighs.
but hey, i'd rather protect our beautiful mountains
and i'm sure somewhere in the valley, someone is saving a butt-load of cash.
you win some, you lose some.
happy berf, america.

heat wave.

{skirt: c/o sugarlips // tank: anthro (old) // earrings: c/o the flock // hat, belt, bracelet: vintage // booties: steve madden // osker: c/o jeff}
there is only a short window in jackson when no jacket is necessary in the evenings.
right now, i'm taking full advantage of leaving the house in only light weight clothes.
this skirt from sugarlips was perfect for meeting up with friends for a bite to eat.
it couldn't have matched my feather earrings more perfectly.
i scooped up my favorite vintage hat in town for only five buckaroos and we are kind of in love this summer.

speaking of heat, everyone stop what you are doing and go do a rain dance for my beloved colorado.
a big chunk of my heart is in CO after going to school there and i don't like these forest fires one bit.
i'm serious......rain dance!

June 22, 2012

dinner and a facelift.

{blazer: zara // tank: free people (old) // maxi skirt: u.o. // belt: from nicaragua // booties: steve madden}

jeffer's parents are in town for the arrival of the newest grandchild.
we decided to let them have a baby break and took them to dinner, just the 4 of us.
my friend's band, PTO, plays every wednesday night on the deck of Cafe Genevieve.
the mountain air can turn pretty chilly once the sun goes down,
so i decided to wear a maxi skirt with this fun jacket from zara.
i wanted to look wholesome for the boyfriend's parents, ya know?
that fried chicken above is the most delicious fried chicken in town.
hands down.

in other exciting news, the egg got a facelift!
the blog people.....the blog.
what do you think of the changes around here?
i wanted it to be a little more serious but still a fun place to visit.
a HUGE thank you to the guys over a ebb & flow media for hookin' a sista up!

stay tuned for some more exciting things happening around these parts.
until then, happiest weekending.

i happened to meet good old quentin back in february while they were here filming, click here.
he's a real goon but who doesn't love his movies?
and some leo, duh.

guest + post. (padgett hoke}

summer is right around the corner.
i really can't think of a better place to spend the summer months
than in the gorgeous mountains.
padgett is a legit local (like born and raised)
so she knows all the best secret spots.
check out what her typical summer looks like.
yes, i've got a couch you can crash on.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there! Padgett Hoke here, good friend to Meagan, and a lover of The Egg. While she is off galavanting around, she has so kindly asked me to do a little post. You can also find me at my own self titled site "Padgett Hoke".

I was born and raised in Jackson Hole, us locals really have a close bond and feel we are a part of a very exclusive club. My friends and I were raised in the outdoors, so when Meagan asked what my favorite part of summer in Jackson Hole is, it was a toughie to answer! But, every activity invariably circles back to water. I love being in & around the water, so here are my favorite pastimes that we enjoy regularly on a hot summer day!

 Kayaking to a camping spot, wine is encouraged.
 Floating the Snake on any 'floating device' available.
Spending the day on a boat at the lake.
A swim in the lake after a long hike.
Stand up paddle boarding

Canoeing
My brother, Bland's, genius hammock boat.
So there it is Egg readers - a little glimpse into a few activities that happen in Jackson Hole during the summer. It is my most favorite time and I cherish every single day of it!

Stop on over and see me sometime, would love to tantalize you with more Jackson Hole love!

April 9, 2012

a fashion post.

{vest: dkny, high-waisted zebra ski pants: ebay/isometric strength training equipment: c/o neighbor's garage}
{movement.}
{sun's out, sexy suits on}
{taking it back to our skiing roots}
{nautical suit w/ built in thong: bogner}
{unitard: c/o a friend's mom, jhort onesie: guess jeans}
that's me at the top.
i know, i look so much better blonde.
yesterday marked the end of the 2012 jackson hole ski season.
what better way to celebrate than in your best ski attire?
the fanny pack at the bottom still has a used tissue in it from the 80's.
that right there, my friends, is called authenticity.

click HERE for more 2012 last day on the hill photos.
they are a treat.

March 6, 2012

the rose.

last night the Dishing girls and i were invited to a pre-opening event for jackson's hottest new bar, The Rose.
it's located right next door to Jackson's historic Pink Garter Theatre which was recently remodeled.
The Rose is simply gorgeous and the perfect place to go with a group of friends before a show!
lush leather couches, stunning chandeliers, recycled wood bar, stunning velvet wall paper.
i didn't want to leave.
we desperately needed this joint and i have a feeling i'll be it's number one customer.
at least top 5.
i already have a tab running.

head over here for more details.
grand opening tomorrow!
