a pop-up shop.

{get a colorful set of bike glasses}
{the cutest cookie cutters ever!}
{what's xmas without poppers?}
{maybe not the safest combo, but great on their own}

how cute is this concept?
a christmas pop-up shop full of goods just for stocking stuffers!
oh, and ornaments.....so many fun ornaments.
and christmas candy, of course.
brought to you by the folks at MADE, one of the best shops in town.
the gifts on these shelves are serious winners this holiday season
they have something for everyone.
AND everything is made in the good old US of A.
all items sold in the shop can be shipped anywhere in the US,
so feel free to call and order over the phone or head to their website, here.
you can reach the shop at 307.690.7957
happy stocking stuffing!

fireworks, how i missed thee.

{july 3rd at teton village}

{teton village fireworks.}
holy visitors!  i don't think i've ever seen this town as busy as it is right now.
there was a lot going on (and still going on) around these parts for america's berf.
food was devoured, music was grooved to, and fireworks were a-blazin'.
last year (see here) there was a fire ban that prevented any sort of sparking in the sky.
and let me tell you, a year without fireworks is like a year without....well i don't know but it sure was good to see them again.

with town being so busy, we jumped in the truck and headed over the pass to victor, idaho.
^^ the victor emporium huckleberry milkshakes are well worth the 30 minute drive, if you ask me.
they're world famous, you know.

we ended the day with live music, sparklers, and fireworks!
rock me mama....old crow medicine show sure was fun to see live.
i have a real thing for banjos.

the happiest of holidays.

{all credit goes to my talented aunt molly!}
{roses, roses, roses.}

{me with the gorgeous bride to be!}
after 24 hours of travel last week,
i made it home just in time for my gorgeous cousin's engagement party.
let's be honest, (see previous post), i wouldn't have missed it for the world.
besides losing my voice for almost 5 days straight, i've had the most wonderful time with my family.
all 26 of us made it back for our annual lobster xmas eve dinner
and we all squeezed around the most gigantic/gorgeous dining room table.
tomorrow i'm off on the last leg of my 3 month trip, new orleans!

December 23, 2012

home is where the party is.

i landed in the us of a and i'm so incredibly happy to be with the murtagh clan for the holidays.
what? your family doesn't dance on your country club bar?
for all my friends out west...
now you know where i get it from.
happy holidays!

the sharpest gift this season.

before i left on my 3 month adventure, i purchased a very special gift for jeff's birthday.  jeff loves to cook so i wanted him to have a new friend in the kitchen while i was away.  and let's be honest, i'll be using his new knife as well when i return...(a win-win, really).  he has always admired the gorgeous knifes from locally owned New West Knifeworks, so i knew an all-round knife was the perfect gift.  he has seriously been raving about his new best friend blade for the last few months.

first off, all of the products are made in the good old u.s.a, including the steel blades.  not only are these knives beautiful to look at, they make even the most amateur chef feel like a pro.  each colorful layer was cut, dyed, and fused together to make a comfortable handle.  it makes slicing and dicing a breeze.  as jeff says, "it cuts through anything, even steak, like butter!" the fusion chef knife featured above, is his go-to in the kitchen and the boy loves it.

i can't think of a better gift this holiday season for anyone who loves to cook. every individual knife truly is a work of art.  not only are there an array of knives and sets to choose from, New West Knifeworks also offers plenty of accessories that you can find here.

*locals note: stop by the shop anytime to get your knives sharpened, for free~

LOTM: thankful for my mountain haven

today i'm thankful for my mountain haven, jackson hole.
but i'm most thankful for are the people who live there.
i've met the most amazing people in our little town (including jeffers)
who continue to inspire me through their crazy athletic abilities, their artsy ways, their passion for music/food, and their genuine zest for life.
i'm thankful to live in a place where others encourage me to see the world.
i don't think i'd be in argentina if it wasn't for the love and support from my peeps back home.
happy thanksgiving friends and family all over the world!

80's ladies ski ballet.

so last year i started this thing.
probably the most amazing idea i've ever come up with.
after watching the vintage ski movie "hot dog",
i couldn't resist putting together our own little ski ballet!

{that's me in the neon orange. directing 80's tourists}

we're doing this thing again in march.
if you are in the jackson hole area,
can rock a thong leotard,
and have ribbon dancing experience (preferred)
then i better see your neon butts on the slopes!
hope you can make it!
official invite:

Alright Betches.

Time to get real....for the second time.
The second annual 80's Ladies Ski Ballet Practice is March 10th.
I'm speaking from personal experience, but if you can't carry a ribbon dancer like the rest of us...
don't come to the Hill and waste our time.
We're serious.
And bring a lot of movement clothes,
A.K.A. neon spandex, dance belts, lycras, et al.
and seriously, F.Y.I., you guys,
this is not an excuse to get out of your regular ski day activities.
This is an excuse to do some good solid mongoose practice.
So, be prepared, be enthusiastic...and leave your bullshit attitude and baggage at the Base, 'cause we don't need it!
We want to see neon, spandex, thongs, more neon, tutus and huge smiles plastered on your faces.

Let's DO THIS!
Invite open to all ladies.....but ribbon dancing experience preferred.
